Standard Operating Procedure forpursuing Ph.D 2026

The Ph.D. programme at Gyanmanjari Innovative University follows a structured and transparent procedure in accordance with university and UGC guidelines. Applicants must submit a duly filled application form along with required documents, photographs, and prescribed registration fees. Admission is based on performance in the Ph.D. Entrance Test conducted by the university, followed by a personal interview and evaluation of a detailed research proposal.

Candidates are required to prepare a comprehensive research proposal outlining the rationale, objectives, methodology, and expected outcomes of the proposed research. Part-time research scholars must additionally submit a No Objection Certificate from their employer. Upon successful completion of the admission process, selected candidates are informed through official communication and are required to complete enrollment formalities and fee payment.

The minimum duration of the Ph.D. programme is three years, including coursework, with a maximum permissible duration of six years, extendable as per university norms. Scholars must complete a minimum of 14 credits of coursework within one year and maintain the required academic standards to continue in the programme. Regular interaction with the supervisor and compliance with progress monitoring requirements are mandatory.

Research scholars are required to submit periodic progress reports and present their work before the Doctoral Research Committee (DRC) for evaluation. Approval of multiple research progress reports is compulsory prior to synopsis submission. Scholars must also fulfill publication requirements, including research papers in recognized journals and participation in academic conferences.

Before thesis submission, scholars must ensure originality of research as per plagiarism norms prescribed by the university and UGC. The thesis submission is followed by evaluation and an open viva-voce examination. Successful completion of all academic, research, and administrative requirements leads to the award of the Ph.D. degree by the university.
