Duration of the Program
- Ph.D. program in GMIU including course work shall be for a minimum duration of three years and a maximum of six years as per specified in UGC regulations 2022 and update time to time. A maximum duration of six years from the date of admission to the Ph.D. program.
- For any extensions that go beyond the aforementioned parameters shall be subject to the pertinent provisions outlined in the ordinances of the University or specific Institution in question, but not for longer than two years and not exceeding eight (8) years from the date of admission.
- The women candidates and Persons with Disability (more than 40% disability) maybe allowed a relaxation of two years for Ph.D. in the maximum duration. In addition, the women candidates may be provided Maternity Leave/Child Care Leave once in the entire duration of Ph.D. for up to 240 days.
